These 2-hour yoga workshops will leave you feeling relaxed, grounded & ready for the year ahead.

What Will We Do?

To usher in the New Year with a BANG GONG, each 2-hour event will:

  • Begin with a Yang To Yin sequence to warm your body, get you in touch with your breath, and open your mind.

  • Be themed around the concept of Sankalpa, intention.

  • Be suitable for everyone. Come as you are, no judgement.

In the second half of the class you will rest in Savasana or any relaxing pose you like & I will begin the sound bath, the Nada.

This sound bath will feature a fusion of traditional & modern instruments:

  • Tibetan singing bowls.

  • Crystal bowls.

  • 32” Paiste symphonic gong.

  • Ableton Live software & Push 3 hardware.

  • Various percussion instruments.

Stay afterwards for a cup of tea, a snack & a chat about your intentions for the year ahead if you like.

Sankalpa

Sankalpa is a Sanskrit word meaning intention, resolve, or heartfelt vow.

A yoga practice can help you connect to a deeper sense of what you are, why you are here, where you are going & how you are going to get there.

That has certainly been my experience.

What Am I?

I set myself an intention last year; to become what I am.

A musician.

I’ve held a deep reverence for music for as long as I can remember. Music has been a spiritual practice for me for much longer than I even knew what spirituality was. I worshipped at the alters of metal, punk & techno music. Ambient music is usually the soundtrack to the morning after the night before.

I have played around with sound, music, noise for a long time. I’ve collected music since the 1980s, DJ’d since the 1990s, exploring many genres & eras of music.

I then started playing, using computers, drum machines, samplers, synthesisers & sequencers. I always felt that imposter syndrome though. I have rejected the label “musician” for so many years because I didn’t feel that I was enough.

If yoga has taught me anything, it is that you can be whatever you want.

About Last Year

I realised that I was the only thing standing between where I was and where I wanted to be. I booked the first Yoga + Nada event for 1st January and sold it out. “If you build it, they will come” as the quote goes.

What do you want to build? What is holding you back?

Come to one of the events I’m running and maybe you’ll find out.

What Have I Done?

In recent years, I’ve attended multiple trainings in facilitating sound baths. Music has been a healing modality for me for decades, but I wanted to learn from experienced teachers.

I’ve practiced my instruments a lot, run successful events around south London and now run a weekly Yin to Sound class, with more regular classes coming soon.

This year I also started my first music collaboration with a friend who is an established & talented musician. We ran an event together called Aranyaka which was very well received. Watch this space for the recording and more events in the pipeline.

I have other musical intentions for the year(s) ahead. More on that soon.
